***Although it is sometimes necessary to borrow money to finance an education, caution is advised. Generally, a student should not rely primarily on loans and is advised not to borrow more than what is needed to meet expenses. ***

Total indebtedness cannot exceed $23,500 for a dependent undergraduate or $138,500 as a graduate or professional student

Federal Plus Loan:

  • Federal PLUS Loans are for parents to assist with payment of education expenses for sons and daughters. These loans provide additional funds for education expenses and are not need-based. Funds are provided by the Dept. of Education. Each year parents may borrow up to the cost of education less financial aid (provided that the student has submitted the current academic year's FAFSA). Repayment for PLUS Loans will begin 60 days after the last disbursement.
